NEW YORK — Nintendo is dropping the price of its Wii game system by $50 to $150 and cutting the price of several popular games ahead of next year’s launch of the successor to the console. Wii Price Drops As Wii Sports Loses Pack-In Status

Nintendo will replace Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort with Mario Kart Wii as the pack-in game and it’ll also throw in one Wii wheel to enhance the kart racing experience.

Wii Price Officially Drops to $149.99 on May 15

Confirming reports that have been circulating for nearly a month, Nintendo officially announced the Wii’s price will drop to $149.99 on May 15. Rather than continue to include Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort , as Nintendo has been doing recently (the system initially included only Wii Sports), the new bundled game will be Mario Kart Wii , which originally came out in April 2008.
