Nintendo reportedly plans Apple-style app store for Wii U

Nintendo’s Wii U may have a full-fledged app store similar to the iPad or Android by the time it ships, according to a rumor early on Thursday. The portal as portrayed by The Daily would give non-gaming apps such as MLB.tv the option of running on the regular TV interface, but it would also allow for more tablet-like apps that run just on the gamepad’s 6.2-inch touchscreen.

Wii U Appearing AT CES, But Don’t Get Excited

Since E3 2011, Nintendo has been quiet about the Wii U, it’s next generation console. The company plans to show off the system to the media next month at CES, but don’t expect to hear anything new. Nintendo will show the Wii U to members of the press behind closed doors and will not have any new announcements for the event

Xbox 360 outsells Wii by 400,000 units in November, analyst says

Microsoft sold 1.44 million game consoles last month, compared with Nintendo’s 1.05 million Wiis, according to an analyst. PS3 hit 750,000 units.
